Respiratory syncytial virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. This virus can act like a common cold to some, but to others, especially infants, it can become severe.
RSV enters the body through the eyes, nose or mouth. It spreads easily through the air on infected respiratory droplets.
Symptoms Include:
- Sore Throat
- Runny Nose
- Fever
- Cough
- For Severe Cases: Trouble Breathing & Fatigue
Ways to Relieve Symptoms:
- Create Moist Air to Breathe
- Drink Lots of Fluids
- Use Pain Relievers
- Saline Nasal Drops
These symptoms will usually clear up within a few days and you or your infant will be back to normal!
